Supper Clubbin’ in the rain!

“Any props you receive are the props that you’ve earned” -Mister Funky from “Funky Child” 1994

One way or the other our ultimate mission of reclaiming the corners through passive aggressive maneuvers will be seen through, and Friday night was no execption, while we didn’t have the opportunity to dine as a neighborhood on the corner our partner in la revolucion Mother Nature saw the job to completion.   A few minutes prior to 630 the skies opened and greater Annapolis was engulfed in a torrential downpour.  Nice.  Very nice.  We love it.

The Supper Clubbers, about 15 of us at final tally, all gathered in the conference room of the Stanton Center and feasted on the likes of grilled hot dogs with sauerkraut, pizza, homemade cupcakes, and a special treat came from a local MC (rapper) named Proton.  Pro as he’s known has been rocking mics across the eastern seaboard for the last few years, in fact he is just about to release his new LP this fall.  Proton is also a chef at Pussers in Annapolis and he contributed some incredible chicken tenders that were the highlight of the dinner.   For more on Proton please check out:  www.proandreg.com

So, while we didn’t get a chance to see how well things have progressed from one month to another in terms of response and commitment from more from the neighborhood we did continue the monthly movement.   It was a slight setback because we really stepped up the marketing this month, Timmy Grins was campaigning door to door up and down Clay Street passing out flyers and speaking on the Supper Club.  The Supper Club video from last month was playing on the local Annapolis TV and there seemed to be some real recognition for the concept among the neighbors.

Its really okay though, we will continue to push it along, the props are coming, the rep is building, the feeling is good…the next Supper Club will be July 25.   See you there.

Peace from Clay Street.
