WHERE: Obery Court Basketball Courts
WHAT: Food, music, and good times (food provided by We Care and Friends)
WHEN: June 7th
WHO: Anybody who wants to have a good time
Fly Entertainment and Bases Loaded will be hosting a block party for the entire Annapolis community Saturday, June 7th, at the basketball courts on the corner of Obery and Clay. No admission will be charged and food will be provided by Larry Griffin from We Care and Friends. There will be musical acts, guest speakers, vendors, and even face painting for the kids.
With the future redevelopment of the neighborhood in mind, the theme of this event is Unity. The whole city has a stake in redefining life in and around the Clay St. neighborhood and that begins with unity.
Entertainment has the power to unify and begin a healing and growing process. As the oldest development in the nation, the “Harlem of Annapolis”
must now undergo change and reinvent itself. It is important to bring everyone together and give out information, exchange ideas, and form the bond of community. And why not do that to good music?
We would appreciate any donations, suggestions, or ideas. Please help us make this event as successful as possible.
We also need information packets that clearly describe all phases of the Clay St. redevelopment project to distribute at the event so as to better inform the residents of what will be happening to the area in the future.
Feel free to contact us for additional information and thank you in advance for your help.
